Frequently Asked Questions
White Pearl Fishing Charters
Everything You Need to Know About Your Fishing Charter
What will we be fishing for?
The main target species depend on the time of year, but we primarily go after Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, and Trout. If another species is biting hot that day, we’ll focus on that instead. If you have a specific fish you want to target (like Tarpon or Snook), just contact Capt. Zack ahead of time and we’ll discuss the best options.
What should I bring on my charter?
Bring these essentials:
- Hat
- Polarized sunglasses (strongly recommended)
- Sunscreen
- Any food and drinks you want
- Clothing appropriate for the weather (contact Capt. Zack if you’re unsure what to wear)
What is provided on the charter?
We take care of everything you need to fish:
- Expert fishing advice and tips from Capt. Zack
- Boat, fuel, and insurance
- Florida fishing licenses for all anglers
- All tackle, bait, rods, and reels
- Cleaning and filleting of your catch (when in season)
Are there any rules on the boat?
Yes — our number one rule is that everyone must have fun and stay safe. Beyond that, we keep things relaxed and simple.
Where do we meet for the charter?
All charters will meet at Gulfport Municipal Marina or at the public access/boat ramp east of the Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach unless we discuss otherwise.
When should we arrive for our charter?
Please arrive at the dock at least 15 minutes early so we can get you on the water right on time.
Are children allowed on the charter?
Yes — absolutely. Capt. Zack loves teaching kids how to fish and making it a fun, safe experience for the whole family.
Is this a good fishing charter for kids?
Yes — White Pearl Fishing Charters is consistently rated as the best fishing charter for kids and families in St. Pete Beach
Can we keep the fish we catch?
Yes, you can keep any fish that are in season and of legal size. Capt. Zack knows all current Florida rules and regulations, so you don’t have to worry — he’ll handle it.
Do you clean the fish for us?
Yes. When we return to the dock, Capt. Zack will clean and fillet your catch for you.
Where can we take our fish to be cooked after the charter?
Our top recommendation is Sea Critters Cafe — they’re right on the water so you can sit dockside, watch fish swim below, and enjoy your fresh catch cooked to order. It’s a perfect way to end the day in paradise. Capt. Zack can give you other great local options too — just ask while we’re out.
Is alcohol allowed on the boat?
Yes, you can bring alcohol. We just ask that nobody gets extremely intoxicated — you need to stay balanced and fully aware for everyone’s safety.
Is smoking allowed on the boat?
Yes, smoking is fine as long as everyone in your group is okay with it. Please don’t litter — there’s an onboard trash can for cigarette butts.
What happens if the weather is bad on our charter day?
Safety comes first. If the weather looks unsafe, we’ll reschedule for the next best day that works with everyone’s schedule at no extra charge. We’ll contact you as soon as we know (usually the evening before or early morning).
Do I need a fishing license?
No — we provide valid Florida fishing licenses for everyone on board, so you don’t need to buy one yourself.
What is the best time of year for Tarpon fishing near St. Pete Beach?
Peak Tarpon season usually runs from May through July, when the big migrations happen close to shore. We still catch them outside those months, but summer is prime time.
